Desi Rahmawati, M.A.

Desi Rahmawati, M.A. is a researcher at the Research Centre for Politics and Government (PolGov) Department of Politics and Government, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. She has been involved in many research about democracy and local politics, including election, local institutions, civil society, women, peace, and tolerance. Her latest publications are “Personal Networks and Elections in a Divided Society: Women Candidates’ Strategies during the 2019 Legislative Election in Ambon, Indonesia” (2021; with Wegik Prasetyo & Elvira Marlien Maratika) and “Social Cleavage and Silent Political Apathy in Urban Society: The Case of Medan 2018 Election” (2020, with Derajad S. Widhyharto & Norin Mustika).
