Dr. Wawan Mas'udi, M.P.A.
Wawan Mas’udi graduated from the Department of Politics and Government, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada in 2000. He completed his master’s degree at the Department of Political Science and Management, University of Agder, Norway (2006), and his doctorate degree at the Asia Institute, Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne, Australia (2016). His research interests include Public Service, Politics of
Identity and Multiculturalism, Decentralisation, and Comparative Government Systems. His dissertation was titled Local Populism in Decentralised Indonesia: Case Study of Jokowi in Solo, 2005–2012. His most recent article was published in Volume 39, No 3, of the journal Contemporary Southeast Asia, titled Programmatic Politics and Voter Preferences: The 2017 Election in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta (co-written with Nanang Indra Kurniawan). A book he edited together with Cornelis Lay, Contested Welfare Regime in Indonesia, will soon be published by Yayasan Obor, Jakarta.
