Dr. Arie Ruhyanto, M.Sc.
Arie Ruhyanto completed his undergraduate studies at the International Relations Programme, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UGM (2002), and his master’s degree at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom (2008). Presently, he is completing his doctorate studies at the Department of International Development, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. His research interests include Decentralisation and Public Service, Territorial Reform, Peace Building, Hybrid Governance. Aside from teaching at DPP, Arie is a researcher with the Agency for Capacity Building and Co-Operation, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UGM, and the Papua Working Group, UGM. He has been intensively involved in various studies about Papua, and as such he is conducting his doctoral research using Papua as a case study, seen from the perspective of state building and legitimacy.
