Yogyakarta – Department of Politics and Government (DPP) UGM held an Alumni and Practitioners lecture on Friday, 17 March 2023 at the East Seminar Building, Fisipol UGM. This lecture is a combined class of two undergraduate courses of DPP, Political Communication Strategy and Network Management.
Alumni and Practitioner’s Lecture are held to provide opportunities for students to study and explore lecture topics directly with informant, both alumni and practitioners who are experts in their fields. This collaboration class with alumni and practitioners will be held regularly and continuously in Department of Politics and Government lecture.
On this occasion, one of the DPP alumni, Diah Ayu Permatasari, was present as a guest lecturer. The woman familiarly called Pepy is an alumnus of Government Science of UGM in 1999. Pepy was a former Executive Vice President (EVP) of Communication and CSR at Indonesia State Electricity Corporation or PLN. (Persero).
Pepy explained the role of the network in life, both at the individual and organizational levels to the lecture participants, which was specifically attended by the 2020 and 2021 DPP students. According to her, the network is a source of information and support that can help achieve goals and develop a system. Therefore, network coaching is built through effective communication.
Pepy also emphasized that the network is not only built but also must be used. “That is the most important part of the network,” she said.
